Tonk is a fast rummy game that is widespread across the USA. Each player tries to shed their hand cards in groups or sequences.
The twist: anyone who is dealt 49 or 50 points right away calls “Tonk!” immediately and wins double.
II · Preparation

Deal the cards
5 cards per player. The remaining cards form the face-down stock.

Discard pile
Turn the top card face up.

Face cards = 10, Ace = 1, number cards = face value.

Anyone dealt 49 or 50 points in hand calls Tonk right away – double win.

Knock or Tonk
Whoever sheds all their cards wins. Alternatively: knock if you think you hold the fewest points. Guess wrong and you pay double.
